Each episode shares key updates and highlights how we’re working to make Upland the best it can be - because this is your city, and we want you to be part of its success.
Each episode is intentionally brief, making it easy to watch in one sitting while still providing valuable insights into our city’s leadership, financial stewardship, housing options, economic growth, public safety, infrastructure projects, and more. You might even recognize familiar faces, local businesses, and landmarks - or even see yourself!

Upland Chamber of Commerce State of the City Event, March 25, 2025
The video presentation below offers an in-depth look at Upland's progress, highlighting our strong leadership, prudent financial planning, public safety innovations, infrastructure improvements, and community-driven growth. In addition to the City's presentation, the event featured insightful contributions from the Upland Unified School District and San Antonio Regional Hospital.

Upland Chamber of Commerce State of the City Event 2024
The 2024 City of Upland State of the City event was held Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Thank you to the Upland Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to speak directly to civic leaders and the business community at their State of the City program. Thank you also to San Antonio Regional Hospital and the Upland Unified School District, and especially all of the families and students involved, for your collaboration in making this a memorable event.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 State of the City Presentation
In Spring of each year, the the Upland Chamber of Commerce and the City of Upland co-host the State of the City event along with community partners. While it wasn’t possible to host the event in spring of 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still important to engage and inform the public of the status, goals, and progress that the City Council and staff are working towards on behalf of residents and businesses of Upland. We are pleased to share with you our new online series, titled "Upland Is For You!", which spotlights important topics that impact the City of Upland. We hope that you’ll enjoy learning about the City of Upland and that you are inspired to become engaged in civic discourse and are proud of your home city.

Volunteer with Friends of Upland Animal Shelter
Everyone benefits when someone chooses to volunteer! Volunteers are essential to providing quality services to the residents of our community. Community members of all ages are encouraged to show pride and get involved in civic activities through volunteer work within the Friends of Upland Animal Shelter.
Volunteers reap benefits such as acquiring new skills, meeting new people, gaining valuable work experience, making professional contacts, building self-confidence and improving the quality of life in the community. Volunteers provide the ability to strengthen existing programs and services as well as develop new ones.
Anyone interested in volunteering must first complete and submit a volunteer application. To view current volunteer positions available, please click here.
Please be advised that if you are volunteering for a position that deals with children or volunteering for more than 20 hours, you MUST be screened before beginning volunteer service. Once your application has been received, reviewed and accepted, you will be sent an email with information on the next step.
Court Ordered Volunteers:
As a condition of volunteer services for COURT ORDERED hours, it is required that you successfully complete a criminal background check prior to your start date for 20 mandated hours. Upon the background clearance, the Volunteer will be assigned to work with the Upland Animal Shelter. To complete a volunteer application, please click here. Please be sure to mark Upland Animal Services for location of interest.
Please note: Volunteers are prohibited from reporting to the work site without the appropriate clearance from Human Resources. If you have any questions, please contact the Human Resources staff at (909) 931-4377.
