Welcome to the “Notable News Weekly”, where we share the weekly email submitted to City Council and staff since its inception in 2022. This email highlights key accomplishments and updates from across all City departments, giving insight into the projects and programs shaping our community. While not an exhaustive list, it demonstrates the remarkable amount of work happening each week and fosters collaboration, efficiency, and teamwork among staff.

This Week's Notable News Highlights: 
  • Police Department- On the evening of March 8th, officers responded to a traffic collision in the 1100 block of E. 19th St. Upon arrival, officers located a downed gate near the shopping center. Officers searched the flood control area south of the shopping center and located the vehicle involved in the collision. A bystander had assisted the driver, and both walked along the trail in the flood control area until officers contacted them. Fire personnel and AMR responded to the scene and provided medical treatment to the driver, and they were subsequently transported to Pomona Valley Hospital for further treatment. After further investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI.
  • Finance- The City has started receiving intercept funds for delinquent business license tax accounts and delinquent utility accounts from the State Franchise Tax Board.
