Description
The residence at 755 North Euclid Avenue features typical Craftsman details. Its front and side gable roof features rafter tails, overhanging eaves, exposed braces, and latticed venting in the gable end. A dormer containing a band of five small lights projects from the side-gabled south wing. Asymmetrical in design, the building is sheathed with shingles. Underneath the dormer, a window with a row of small lights over a large single light pierces the southern half of the facade; on the northern half, the porch and entry are shaded by the front gable. Paneled and glazed, the door is flanked by sidelights. Battered stone piers with wood posts carry the gable. In good condition, the bungalow appears largely unaltered. RESEARCH NOTES: The house was probably built for Ralph 0. Bowen who purchased the lot in 1911-12, following recordation of the tract in 1910. Bowen was secretaryltreasurer of the E.A. Bowen Company and was living at this location by 1912-13, according to the directories.
