Teens, are you looking to broaden your horizons, gain valuable work experience, fulfill community service requirements, increase self-confidence, and assist Upland Recreation and Community Services staff with summer programs, special events, and activities throughout the City of Upland? Consider joining the City of Upland’s 2024-2025 VolunTeen Program! The Program is a year-round program available for teens, 14-17 years of age. ⁠

"Take & Make" Spring Craft Kits With The Sawdust Factory

Upland Recreation and Community Services is excited to continue our partnership with The Sawdust Factory to provide “Take & Make” Spring Craft Kits for kids of all ages! Yes, adults are included, too!⁠

Each craft kit created exclusively for Upland Recreation and Community Services participants contains a Spring-themed wood cut-out, paint, and paint brush. All that's needed is your creativity and perhaps some glue and Sharpie marker to provide a personal touch from the comfort of your own home.⁠

2nd Annual Egg-streme Egg Hunt For Adults

Saturday, March 23
6:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m.  (Check-In No Later Than 7:30 p.m.)

Ages:  18 Years & Up

We're so "egg-cited" and we just can't hide it - it's time for our 2nd Annual Egg-Streme Egg Hunt For Adults!

Bring friends and family and join us at 6:00 p.m. for a bite to eat at one of our on-site vendors, a cold beer at our beer garden hosted by Upland Rotary, musical tunes provided by DJ Matthew, fun & competitive games, and photo opportunities with the Recreation bunny!  

Then, at 8:00 p.m., it's lights out for our egg hunt adventure!  Bring a flashlight, bag, or basket for your goodies, as you hunt in the dark for the opportunity to win over $14,000 in "egg-cellent" prizes.  Plastic eggs will be filled with candy, raffle tickets, and "Instant Win" prize tickets to redeem for items donated from businesses in our community.  Approximately 7,000 plastic eggs will be scattered through the ball field located at Greenbelt Park.

 **PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.**

New this year:  Be sure to recycle plastic eggs on site for a chance to win additional prizes!

Rules:

  • Check-in no later than 7:30 p.m.
  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Participants must register prior to the event and provide ID at the time of check-in.
  • Devices or nets are not allowed to help pick up eggs during the event.
  • Participants must provide their own flash-light and bag/basket for all goodies.
  • All participants must wear closed-toe shoes.

Run, jump, and hippity hop into fun at the City of Upland’s Annual Spring Egg Scramble For Kids on Saturday, March 30, at Memorial Park from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  Enjoy egg hunts, crafts, games, activities, bounce houses, story-time with Upland Public Library, on-site food vendors, and photo opportunities with the Recreation bunny.  No yolks about it – it’s sure to be an “egg-cellent” time!

Spring is in the air!  Leaves are appearing on trees, flowers are blooming and smelling sweet, birds are singing, and bees are a-buzzing.  It's time to plant your garden...your salad garden!

Join us along with San Bernardino County Master Gardener, Janeen Williams, for a fun and educational experience, as you learn to plant, grow, care for, and reap the benefits of your own garden.  All participants will receive kits with four different vegetable types to begin your own starter garden for home!

Doga: Dog & Owner Yoga

Doga is a form of yoga, offering additional one-on-one time with humans and their canine companions. This form of exercise may also provide your pup with improved posture, better sleep, and an additional means of bonding with their favorite human after a good workout. This paws-itively fun activity can be learned in the studio and continued at home.

Kids' Night Out!: Kids In The Kitchen

Kids, get ready for a fun-filled "Kids In The Kitchen", an evening cooking adventure created just for you!  "Kids In The Kitchen" offers hands-on recipes, basic food preparation skills, measuring and safety lessons in the kitchen, and the opportunity to learn easy, fun, and tasty treats that can be made at home.

No need to pack dinner for tonight - throughout the course of the evening, the little chefs will enjoy their own hand-made treats, along with fun games & activities, an evening movie, and possible craft projects, should time permit.

Parents, take this opportunity to check out a new restaurant, enjoy a movie, or enjoy quiet time spent at home, with the confidence in knowing that your child will be well taken care of by our friendly, trained Recreation staff.

Walking Wednesdays

There has never been a better time to commit or recommit to helping your family and friends lead active and healthier lives!  During the entire month of May, Upland Recreation and Community Services is here to help you reach your goals and help you to remember that fitness can be fun! No matter your fitness level, let's get moving...your body will thank you!

Our Walking Wednesdays group will meet weekly in May and stride up the Euclid Median, gradually increasing distance each week. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!  Join for FREE and bring a friend! Each 1/2 mile walked with us will earn an entry for a chance to win prizes!

Butterflies In May

Children, enjoy the chance to witness the beauty of the butterfly by experiencing its changing life cycle from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. ⁠

Each child participating in Butterflies In May will be provided with a caterpillar home to decorate on site, a live caterpillar, and activities to complete at home throughout the transformation process. Each year, this is a very popular event!

Puzzle Palooza

Assemble a team of up to four players and head on over to the Magnolia Recreation Center for our Spring Puzzle Palooza and a chance to win prizes!

Teams will be challenged to complete a 500-piece spring-themed puzzle in less than two hours.  All family teams and all adult teams will be provided will be provided with the same puzzle theme per age team category.  The team with the shortest completion time and accurate puzzle wins!

Rules:

  • Family teams must have at least one participant aged 15 years or younger, with a maximum of four players.
  • Adult teams must consist of all adults (18 years & older), with a maximum of four players.
