The City of Upland has approved the conversion of the east patio of the Upland Public Library to a new Friends of the Library Bookstore; and the building plans are now complete! This is a fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to allow the Friends to expand their support to the Library and the community at large.
The Library’s current bookstore is run entirely by volunteers and has been supporting the Library for more than 25 years. Over the past three years alone, they have donated over $125,000 to sustain the Library’s programs, upgrade its technology, and furnish the newly constructed David and Mary Hjorth Children’s Reading Room. With an expanded, front-facing bookstore, the Friends look forward to being able to increase their fundraising efforts for the Library, allowing Library staff to continue working hard to design innovative programs and services.
Please consider donating to this extremely worthwhile project that will benefit the Library and the Upland Community. If you are interested in contributing to this project, please direct your donation to the Friends of the Upland Library using the memo line, “Building Fund.” All donations are full tax deductible as the Friends are a 501(c)3 organization (TAX ID# 95-6209172).
